For the last 14 years, America’s pork producers have officially been encouraging families to enjoy meals together WHENEVER they can find time as part of National Eat Together Week. While the official week has already passed, celebrated September 20-26, 2009, we still encourage families to enjoy time together at their table throughout the year.
This year to help spread the word, the National Pork Board enlisted all-American supermodel and celebrity mom Niki Taylor, mother of twins Jake and Hunter, and baby Ciel. Says Niki, “With all we’ve got going on, it can be difficult to fit in family meals. However, because we’re so busy, it’s more important than ever to get in quality family time, and eating together is a great way to do that.”
We also are proud, and you should be too, to have helped donate 10,000 pounds of pork to families in need, that’s equivalent to 50,000 meals! During National Eat Together Week, for every recipe printed or shared via email from the special National Eat Together Week section below, America’s pork producers donated five pounds of pork (or about 25 meals) to a food bank in need.
